There are two types of resin in use in surdboard manufacture epoxy and polyester. Forget about sanding and laminating resin as sanding resin is simply laminating resin with a wax additive. The cloth is made from strands of glass woven together and the boards are made from two types of foam. PU and EPS foam.
If your board is made with epoxy resin then you MUST use an epoxy resin to fix it.
If your board is made with polyester resin then you can use either polyester or epoxy resin to fix it.
Therefore if you do not know what resin was used to make your board then fix it with epoxy resin to be sure.
