What 's the best board for Maria's, Rincon, PR?

Postby henryg1 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:09 pm

I am 6'3" 190lbs. I have a 7S superfish 6'6" (not much rocker). It works great on waves 4' and smaller but on larger head high plus waves I find myself pearling. Can this be helped with a different board? If, so what would be the best board for taking off on headhigh plus? Also, what would be the best board for the winter conditions usually found at Maria's Rincon, PR?
thanks,
Henry

I know the Superfish fairly well and I would suggest that the problem is more likely to be a combination of two things from what you posted , firstly you are heavier than the weight range for the size of superfish you have and you would need to be of a high level of skill to hit it up in bigger waves, the board should still suitable.
Secondly the rocker is fine but I am thinking that the there is still work on take off technique needed.

This usually appears as the take off becomes more critical
