I've been looking for my first board I'm 6'0 and I'm thinking either a 6'10 ecomp or a 7'3 malibu. Both are bics what do you think?

If possible I would recomend a used Board for your first but if you must go new Look for a local shaper who knows the spots you surf he could probably make you a nice board i jsut bought a new board for 501$ custom shaped it takes about a month to a month and a half and supporting the locals I think is also good for the sport.

Bics are tough and heavy. Good as beginner boards; but if you can stretch even to the NSP level you will get a board that will be good past beginner. But if you want to get a cheap board to see how you like surfing, then Bics are fine.

Buy the biggest board you can. Even 7ft3 is probably too small, unless you can already surf.

I like ripping on my 9'2 nsp kind of pisses off the short boarders. That can't get in early enough. But sometimes I don't like pushing that hard lol.

I have a Bic and it's a great board for beginners :) They are touch and can go through all types of beatings, however, I am no surfing expert, but again I was told they are great boards for those first starting :)
