East Anglia surfing

Postby 1ntro » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:54 pm

Hi,

I live in Cambridge at the moment and so the east coast is looking to be the best spot for last minute weekend trips away.
Basically my question is about reading surf reports so I know whether its worth making a trip or not. Ive basically realised that relying on wave height alone isnt worth relying on so have been doing some homework on the other factors.
Does anyone have a rough guide on what I should be looking for to know whether its worth a trip to say East Runton, Cromer, Southwold etc. What are the best combined swell, wind, wave height, tide conditions for these spots (or any others on the east coast) and what isnt worth making the journey for? I dont need huge waves or anything just waves I can surf on a 6'4
Im really dubious about the MSW surf report as on the website it says 1-2 ft for Sunday this weekend and on my mobile app it says it will reach 3ft??? :?

Thanks!
