You get to see unusual sights, often the meeting of old world/third world and modern tech or other strange thing so I thought I'd start this thread with photos from West Timor the island of Rote a traditiona musical instrument called a sasando made with a bamboo centre, lontar palm fronds forming the sound box. We were serenaded by ancient Rotenese songs until!!!!!!!!!

On the other side of the coin, if you call a friend about the great surf , he ain't gonna get there in time

the local kids are stoked
