Best type of board for a tall beginner male

What would be the best board for a beginner who is 6' 3" and 240-250 lbs?

Welcome, have a read of the Surf board advice your answer has been given quite a few times, there seems to be surge of bigger guys in your weight range wanting to take up surfing, bigger guy needs bigger board when learning it's about getting whatever floats ya boat actually in reverse :lol: the boat that floats ya

Like Jaffa said - big (long wide and thick).

My tip is: although longboards look huge on land and very unwieldy, when you are in the water they dont seem all that big (you actually want them to be long) and are pretty easy to control (once you have gained the skills). So dont be afraid of big boards.
