Stuck between a fish and a hybrid

Postby MaximeCanada » Sun Apr 14, 2013 11:25 pm

Hi I want to buy my first surfboard and I'm stuck between two different boards. I am 5'7, 130 pounds and I am a beginner (I surfed twice with a mini longboard).

I want to surf small to medium waves (Lake Ontario, Hampton beach, rivers). These are the boards:

1. An hybrid, 6'6 and large enough.

2. A fish board. It's a fish board made for heavier guys so the volume is really big (50 liters) and I think it would help to catch the wave and stability.

Which one would be the best with small waves, like to be able to catch almost any wave and have fun ?? Thanks a lot.

If you want a board that catches small surf then volume is key, but you are 130lbs so you could use either and both are begginer big for your size. For small waves the fish would be better, but either will do
