Hi Nancy_83, welcome to Surfing Waves!
I've not surfed at Hossegor, but have further north and further south on that coast. I can tell you that there are some great waves there. If you are planning a trip, you won't be disappointed.

I have surfed Hossegor. I enjoyed it and the other nearby breaks. Beware though . . . big and powerful when I was there (Hurricane Andrew blew through) and on the one day I was resting up it was sooo huge and nasty a helicopter was actually lifting surfers / bodyboarders out of the water outside (Yes it was that big. It was massive massive massive big as can be! So big the Pro's turned up!)

I camped at a municipal camping site just a few yards from the beach.

I hope you enjoy surfing there.
