paulownia timber organic and sustainable

Postby wood-alaia-surf » Mon Mar 25, 2013 10:27 pm

Hi,

For those who are currently looking for paulownia timber in Europe, now you can get it from trees cultivated here. It is 99% ecological and sustainable. From our website: http://wood-alaia-sur.paulownia.ws we offer made-to-order paulownia blanks - thickness: from 4 mm to 50 mm, length: to 3000 mm - without having to use useless bilayer and triple layer blanks. There's nothing imported here, only wood cultivated in the Mediterranean. It has a better quality and it is lighter than the one imported.

We not only make blanks, we also cut the wood with the sizes that you want, if it's possible, we do. We make alaia blanks, strips, stringers, TT core, chambered, hand-boards and also raw timber, with non-standard measures. Our timber doesn't come in containers, we cultivated it.

We make it easy your inventiveness and motivation without having to buy/use very expensive tools. Blanks, strips, stringers and custom boards ready to use (glue, sand and paint).

Request us what you need to build your project, we'll do a quotation.

Eii, I think there are many online guides and videos showing how to shape alaias, even hollows. Actually we are considering offering printable outlines and drawings soon.

Actually triple layer banks make a lot of sense, why do you call them 'useless'?

Firstly rocker can be put into them, secondly by running the grain in the inner layer across the board splitting can be prevented. Alaias and paipos made with one layer sometimes split fore and aft.

Ok, I've probably gone a little using word 'useless'. I was referring to a some blanks here in Europe imported from China, cheap but worst.
I know you have a lot of experience with paulownia. But Roy, what about flex of triple layer blanks for alaia with all those glued surfaces? Are triple layers glued to 90º?
