Just a little tip. If you get seriously smelly boots; the sort of smell that makes your eyes water, pore neat TCP/Dettol in them after you've flushed them with fresh water...no more smell

I get laughed at when I post this, but I just take some lysol disinfectant to the inside, it kills the mold and smell

Even better, live somewhere where 'cold water' in the middle of winter means (at worst) 17deg C...
