As the waves roll into the bay they wall up very slowly, and then break when they hit the rock shelf. The shortboarders sit more or less on the shelf, the longboarders about 10m further out... but the SUPs sit 10m further out than that and catch the wave way before its broken and away from the curl... but then they ride the unbroken wave to the curl, turn things around, and ride the wave like any other surfer.
Now I reckon that that's just an advanced form of snaking - what do you guys think?

...And what would you do about it? If it was another surfer, I'd just drop in, but I'm not getting in the way of a 12ft SUP

Oh, and also I saw that the SUPs are big enough to make the wave crumble and then they get their own curl - at which point, to my mind, all bets are off and I can do what I like.
