theres always 'guerilla camping' at i think its called 'crows point' or summat at the end of Saunton beach ..we in the past have got away with pitching on the beach cause the wardens dont come all the way down to check whos there  ... might have changed now so would be best to check with someone with more knowledge ... " phil " .. you in ere ' today ? :)

all right cheezee hows it going not seen you on the forums for a while

i wouldnt have a clue about camping crow point but i guess its worth a shot if you put the tent up late and take it down early you could proably get away with it

hows it going anyway you still geting out for a surf often i hope

Hi Phil :)

... yeh , only just got back online ! .. I moved business premises in march so kinda got caught up in the whole trauma of that bs' all sorted now !! at last .

I've been out twice .. once the day after new years day for like a 10min' dip for a laugh .. and the laugh came from everyone else as i went in wearing my shorty !! not a f'ing clever thing to do   but at least i stayed in longer than my buddy in full on winter suit !.
Then we popped down to wollacombe a few weeks ago but it was still freezing ..and more to the point i was still being a stubborn t'watt and went in wearing my shorty again ( left it too late to find the cash for winter wetty!) so it was short lived ! .. got flipped pretty bad too  had a bad back for the last three weeks !!

Hope everything is good for you mate and your getting plenty of board' time   .. deffo have to hook up soon my man and see if we can arrange a lil' group meet or summat cause my god have i gone back to complete beginner mode .. i cant get up off my knees .. granted that was possibly due to the fact that i was frozen to my board !!

Keep in touch bro' and we'll sort summat out soon :D

I spent a great week in Croyde once. We stayed in a 'Farm Campsite' on the opposite side of Croyde to Ruda,

I can't remember what it was called, but you could walk just across the road and down a cutting to the beach.

We used to wake up, get into our suits in a nice warm shower, walk down to the beach and surf, then walk back and take the suits off in the shower again.

Awesome!!

I agree with checking out Saunton as a beginner though cos it's big and you can get some fearsomely long rides there. Only if you've got a big enough board though. I had a 6'6 x 18.5 x 2.25 thruster for a while and couldn't catch anything in Saunton.

Cheers

Yeah, I've been away, but unfortunately not away surfing!!

I did have a great session in Newgale (Pembrokeshire) last weekend. It looked really blown out and messy, but I had some great long rides.

and... I was the ONLY person out back on the whole beach!! Fantastic!

Good to see you guys again!!

Uni's

Postby SeDaBa » Fri Jul 22, 2005 8:55 pm

While you're on the subject of Croyde, if you're in the area and their on, you must check out the Universe Inspectors, in the village hall. Top quality, reggae/ska I live in Birmingham, but come down just to see them and grab some waves while i'm at it. Any fans?

No, no we're talking last August here. bank holiday, i've seen them the last three years then I think. I came down in March hoping to catch them, but was apparently a few weeks early/late. Hope to see them again this August though!
