Wakeboarding

Postby surfdude » Thu Oct 18, 2012 12:33 am

I know this site is official for surfing (at the sea with big waves) - but I would like to know if anyone of you tried wake boarding or wake skating? Short board with or without bindings and a machine will pull you in order for you to feel the action? Can do fancy exhibitions (if you are pro) or just simply enjoy the breeze while doing it.

A couple of well known wake boarding/wake skating resorts in the Philippines are Lago de Oro in Batanggas and CWC in Cam Sur (actually will be doing it tomorrow till Saturday!) :D

We will be going at Lago de Oro in Batanggas tomorrow but have tried wake boarding in CWC in Cam Sur.

Just excited and just wanted to share this.

I've not tried it, but would love to have a go. I'm pretty sure it's something I'd enjoy.

Tried it recently, loch lomond in scotland, was fun, def. something i would do again, once the water warms up. have even been looking into a jetski, to drag people behind on wakeboards or ringos

It's really addictive! This is my 3rd time to try this sport out. First 2 tries was on the beginners track (1st in CWC and 2nd in Lago de Oro) but as of yesterday, I officially went on Pro! and it was a big achievement! :D

I wakeboarded for a weekend back in 1993 on a friends board and with his boat. It felt like snowboarding to me, except I hated having to hold on to that damn rope. I eventually would just let it go and try to jump the wake and try 180's / 360's.

Cue Neal from "the Young Ones" it's so boring, you need a boat petrol and you get towed around and around and you do tricks so you don't get bored. Ho Hum :blah:
Hasn't been mentioned until the last post since 2012.
Some people have the skills, IMO a pointless exercise and not for me!
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

It's ok, I tried Wakeboarding way back in 93. I just hated holding onto that stupid rope, which is very restricting. Eventually I would get speed and let it go and jump the wake and try a 360 or something.
I prefer Snowboarding. Or... Surfing. You won't get the same feeling from Wakeboarding as you do Surfing. Surfing is about 80 million times more fun if you can do it well. IMO, of course.
