Another Bali thread - Boards

Hi guys, hoping to get some wisdom off you wise surfers. Heading to Bali at the end of the year with mates. Having surfed for 2 years, I am pretty adept at surfing and my current board is a 6'1. Mates think that will be too short for Bali but I don't want to spend money on a new quiver. We will not be surfing anything over head high either (knowing our range).

I've taken this board out in double overhead onshore conditions (didn't catch a wave) but came in all good. Will this board be ok for Bali? It is my favourite board and go to for every condition at my local ranging from ankle slappers - over head high. My view was it is better I stick with something I am comfortable with rather than jump on a foreign bigger board.

What do you guys think? Also any other tips for a first timer will be much appreciated. We plan on leaving the hustle and bustle of the main Bali areas and search for the quieter spots even jumping on the boat to Lombok.

Hey Newbloke, it's great here how you are doing
You've come a long way from being banned from surfing by your parents to planning a trip to Lombok! WOW
Head to Kuta (Lombok ) and Gerupuk there are great waves there that fit your bill, if you are comfortable with that board it will do fine.
The ferry to Lombok is an eye opener, and a great cultural experience flying to Lombok is a 30 minute job.
If you fly stick to Merpati or there may be a Garuda flight , avoid any other airlines for inter island hops.

Have fun if you've been head down into Vet science you deserve the trip.
