What board is this?

Postby Gatzwiller » Wed Sep 05, 2012 1:43 pm

Hey, I am a newly born surfer looking for my first board.
I am looking to buy a second hand board, but the options are limited in Denmark.
I have found this though: http://www.guloggratis.dk/sport/sejlspo ... s=1#images
But the problem is the listed buyer is selling it for a friend who is currently abroad, and the seller has no clue what kind of board it is.

My question is does anyone know this board, and if they do, can you tell me if it would suit a beginner in the waves?

I am 185cm(6'06") tall and weigh about 70 kg(155lbs), the board itself is 198(6'6") cm tall and 46cm(1'6') wide.

Thanks in advance, and excuse my rookieness..

Spread the stoke!

No, it wouldnt suit a beginner. Too short and too narrow. Read around this site; you want something much longer (for your height/weight, probably 8ft+), wider and thicker.

That board has some strange grip placement.

It looks as though someone attempted to set up a surfboard for windsurfing except without the foot loops, otherwise very... unique trac pad placements.

When I first looked I thought it was a windsurf board, no mount for the mast though (unsure of correct terminology here :-D )

When kiteboarding first came out they started using surfboards, I think this is one of the early models before kiteboards started being made

You are probably right. I did think a kiteboard might be a possibility, although at 6foot+ it would be too long. Plus the fin looked a little large. Perhaps KS could shed some light on this?
