Quad fish

What is your take on a quad fin set up? Never had a chance to ride one but have only heard good things about them. Waves in my area are around usually around 4-8ft.

Never tried on a fish. Twice on a shortboard. It was fast but I only fell when doing bottom turns. Didn't really give it enough time to experiment though. It looks fun for small surf.

But a fish for 4-8 ft. waves? Is that from the front or back?

I've got a 6'1 hybrid fish very similar to a CI pod, with quad and thruster plugs. It's fast as a quad, but lacks grip for me. I just usually end up at the bottom of the wave and sideways!
As a thruster the board grips the face much better and feels a lot more positive in turns.

It purely depends on what feel you want from the board. it also depends on the size and type of the fins. a quad tends to be a bit more loose and flexible with little hold but fast.
