What you need to do before getting wet

Postby onitchronicles » Wed May 09, 2012 1:16 pm

I am a female, beginning surfer and I needed surf specific training to make me more capable in the water. I'd been surfing several times, usually on a long board and I would only ever catch maybe 2 waves.. on a small day. The rough days I couldn't even get into a wave myself I had to have my boyfriend push me in, which was frustrating for him b/c he'd work to push me into a wave he was frothin over himself and I'd just flail on it almost every time not being able to handle the board in the power of the wave properly.
Needless to say I needed to do out-of-water training to get me ready.
I started Total Surfing Fitness- A functional fitness training for surfers about 2 months ago and I can handle my board just as well as anyone else in the water, I catch way more waves, and I surf for much longer. Check it out, see for yourself. It helped me loads and also my boyfriend's surfing has really improved from doing this training as well. We wrote a nice review you can find at:

Hi onitchronicles,

Please keep the self advertising posts to a minimum. How about searching out some relevant topics and questions and posting some useful information there.

Thanks

Ditto SP's post. Specific advice, and knowledgeable posters/contributors are always welcome here. Spammers.... not so much.

You got it, SP. I'm not trying to spam anyone, I was hoping for someone to relate to me so I could help by providing a solution with my review site that I worked hard on for that purpose. It's been a journey but now I'm finally having fun out there so I wanted to share a few exercises for anyone that was interested... I guess I forgot to say- there are some strength and core exercises posted on my blog for anyone who is looking for some effective moves, plus some more valuable info.

IMO just plain and out and out astroturfing. :? I read a little further and 'm even more convinced astroturfing.
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
