now being a beginner, i have trouble judging depth. i am paranoid about grounding my fin and ripping out my finbox or worse. I surf bournemouth/boscombe.
would i notice any difference if i bought a 6" center fin, or can i change it to a 3 fin thruster with an adapter? i previously had cortex 8' and that had 3 fin thruster set up, but there was a manufacturing fault and the fcs plugs pulled out by the waves, not through grounding, but it has made me cautious and worry about a weak point.
trying to take out a bit of the fear factor of breaking my board so i can concentrate on my ride.
Morning Batty, don't fuss your digit on the fins, but if you are really worried , after your problems with the previous board Have a think about this. You need to show use a picture of your fin boxes, > Oh Dear I look on the fins site and you have a fin system that is a one off

and the news is you can only go down to a 6" but really I wouldn't worry if you do ground your fin then a repair would be necessary and possible, all plugs and fin boxes are designed to smash out rather than a fixed fin which if it comes out can do great damage to your board, airline staff love smashing fixed fins in their baggage a handling system.
Just go surfing and post if the worst happens and we'll talk further
