Taipei in June?

Postby bomber35 » Mon May 07, 2012 6:47 pm

Hey all, I am going to be stopping through Taipei on business for around 24-48 hours in late June. Can anyone recommend an easy break to get to, as well as relay what kind on conditions I will be looking at during that time I the summer? Hell, even better would be a local who is on this forum who wants to pick me up and take me out!!?

Hi Bomber, I can help you here, there are several companies in Taiwan which offer surf tours, one I am currently dealing with for my trip is SurfTaiwan, I know they have a day pick up and surf service so if you check out their website and see if it fits.
The surfspots are about 30 to 50,minutes drive and boards are available. True, it's more expensive than befriending a local but it might help.

Hope this helps

The where Jaffa hasn't been list!

Taiwan surfing ( previously for a Kung Fu tournament) be remedied this year, September/October + Culture with my wife!

Maldives
Been to Europe for family, England Scotland across to Switzerland and Austria ( where my knee boarding son lives) but not for surf, planning to do the Severn Bore and the Mascaret in France and a holiday in Portugal with my son for a family surfing reunion.

Had a chance at a surf in Scotland, but a family wedding cut that short. + the minus temperatures.

Not Africa and I have no wish to go there!
Been to lots of off the map pacific islands. But not Samoa or Tahiti. I'd choke at Chopes.

South America, Peruis on the to do list, but not sure on whether I have the money list.

A strangeness , neither Queensland. Nor Victoria, tried both several times but never coincided with swell!

Sri Lanka and India, the USA except I went to Hawaii in 1969 and surfed everywhere except Waimea .
I really haven't been to most of the world, Oh sorry I forgot Spain and the scandinavian surf spots, love to do a midnight surf under the northern lights.

Now when you spread that over 54 years it doesn't mean a lot traveling as some destinations are no more than six hours flight from Australia but most three hours .

Perth is a longer flight than Fiji, Tonga Vanuatu, New Zealand.

Lots to get to, and will happen, guess it's a bucket list of sorts

A lot were when you could travel on next to nothing and there were no terrorists.

Bomber just a thought, you'll actually be there before me, if you use surftaiwan let me know how you go!
I won't change my program but if there are any issues I'll be forewarned.
Some how I don't think there will be!

Have a good one!
