Help with the drop in a wave?

Postby iAmMolly » Sun Apr 01, 2012 1:59 pm

I'm a beginner to surfing, and last year, I would catch waves that we literally JUST about to break, so I'd be surfing white waves 90% of the time...
I went a few weeks ago and i caught the wave a lot earlier than I usually do, as i stood up there was like this big kind of drop? The waves were only about 3ft? Is there a drop like that in every wave? Is it normal? The nose ended up going under and throwing me off anyway:(
Any tips? Thanks :)

Oh, and I ride a bic mini mal 7'3(:

Yes, that is exactly what you're aiming for!
Next time, get your bodyweight low, put some pressure on your backfoot to keep the nose out the water and hey presto - you're surfing.
