
The tide was quite full, the waves were 2-3ft, and I caught one a little late with a crumbling peak. Just as I finished paddling and was about to pop up, I noticed a lump of backwash about to meet my wave. So I paused a moment and intentionally let the board slide down the face and gain some speed, and then just as my board hit the backwash, I popped up.
The push of the backwash lump meeting my wave as I popped threw me and the board a not insignificant distance into the air - entirely independently - but, here's the thing, I landed it
