Recommend me a place to go in feb/mar/apr

Postby graugart » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:10 pm

Hey guys

Me and my friend are beginner surfers from Europe and are looking for a place to go on a trip sometime in march +/-. We prefer Asia, since my friend has never been there, but recommendations for other places in the world are welcome too. We are looking for something like:

- Good surf for beginners
- (Relatively) cheap
- Nightlife
- Exotic!

I have already been to Bali, so might want to try and find another place. Any recommendations?? :)

Thanks!

If you're adamant on it being in Asia, maybe look @ Sri Lanka, haven't been myself but hear it has great waves, is certainly cheap & has a night life scene.

My opinion on somewhere I've been, Nicaragua - wicked cheap, great waves (yeah, some are harder to get too, but that add's to the fun) & dependant on where you're at, Toña + musica is readily availible to partA!!

Also during the months mentioned, it's dry season - hardly a cloud in the sky + consistent waves = nothing but gooooooood times!

Go back to Bali!! It looks beautiful, i've never been of course but it'd be top of my list after beautiful Hawaii! I hear the surf's great there and there are loads of different beaches to explore in case you want a change! Have fun!

What about Morocco? The flights are much cheaper and shorter if you're coming from Europe. I was there in March/April last year and it was awesome. Hot & sunny everyday, cheap cost of living once you're there and of course.....fantastic waves!! Plus there are tonnes of beaches around so as beginners you'll be in your element! We stayed at a place in Tamraght which is near Agadir where there was some good nightlife (bars, clubs etc.) Have a great trip :)

Costa Rica has good waves and warm water, not that far away you can go to Fuerteventura which is much closer and for sure cheaper. The temperature in winter time is around 23ºC and the water is around 21ºC. Beaches are nice over there. You can find many surf camp and surf apartments in Corralejo as well as nice beaches and shopping right there.

Hi!

I ve been to Bali, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka and Australia for surfing.

Bali is nice - you ve been to:)

Costa Rica: wild & beautiful nature, consistent waves, a lot to see&do besides surfing, beautiful beaches, very nice locals, good night life (you have places with more chill out atmosphere -Dominical, or more crowded loud night life - - Tamarindo & Jaco; depends what you prefer), not that expensive though more expensive than Nicaragua or Panama. Top food:)

Panama: similar to Costa Rica, less developed than Costa Rica (except Panama city), cheap.

Sri Lanka: Nov - Apr go to West coast (Hikkaduwa), Apr-Nov go to East coat (Arugam Bay). Waves are smaller, stipper and not so nicely organized as in Costa Rica. Prices are actually not that low as someone would expect.. Been there this January 2012..

Australia: beautiful but far from cheap..

:)
