Surfing the Gower, Wales with the locals?

Postby Guest » Wed Apr 27, 2005 9:30 am

All,

I'm using this weekends bank holiday to pay a trip to the Gower in Wales, Ive been told that this is an excellent surfing spot.

I am still at beginner level and I am concerned about articles Ive read that the locals are not very friendly (waxed cars, let tires down, picked fights and stolen equipment) what is everyones opinion on this? especially any locals out there.

Respect everyone out there, no matter where you are surfing, its all about respect. You get what you give if you know what I mean.

Its going to be heaving everywhere this weekend as everyone has the same idea as you. esp if the weather is nice.

As for what you've heard its all exagerations but be carefull with your gear and where you put your key. The south Wales chav crew have cottenend onto this being a theives easy pickings.
