Bruny Island, was nice and wild to tour around, but Cloudy Bay surf really spooked me, there was plankton staining the wave faces pink like diluted blood, big waving fronds of bull kelp thatched out of the water like shark fins with every wave, and a half eaten seal carcass was only visible on the rocks when you were almost comfortable in the lineup position. Then I started thinking of the long drive to help with a tourniquet on a bitten limb.
And almost before it was begun I was so unnerved I went in
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

Surfing lessons for kids?

I reckon at the site of the half eaten carcass I would have bailed pretty quick as well . The biggest scare I have had so far was a southern right whale and calf coming up behind me just behind the breakers . I left a brown trail in the water that day as well before I realized what it was . I guess half the attraction down here is you are other in the wilderness or not far from it .

Surfing lessons for kids?

Thanks for your input everyone. Yes, I am in Cali... Feel like a rip off for 100dlls/hr.
Unfortunately, I'm barely popping up myself, let alone teaching the kiddies. I'm hoping to get more "me" time so I can practice.
The local church has a summer surf camp, so thats my next plan.

Yeah, Hawaii. Not sure you'll find any surf lessons in Haiti!
