HELP ME!! What board to get!!!

Postby mattmenow » Wed Oct 19, 2011 7:44 pm

Ive been trying to find a board for a while now, its going to be the last time i buy anything for a WHILE!!! (as im saving to go travelling)
Id describe my skill level as intermediate and im 6 foot and 10 stone.
I want a shortboard that will still catch gutless waves!
Some of the names that have been thrown up are:
pumpkin seeds
Chilli beans
magic carpets
fat boys
biscuits

Does this mean anything to anyone! Basically a shortboard that isn't a fish that is fat and floaty so i can still improve and still carve waves!
Could really do with some help!

Well first off, you are going to have to pay more if you want a Channel Islands Surfboard. Al Merrick is the master shaper, guru, most world title winning shaper in the world hands down. He has shaped boards for Kelly Slater, Tom Curran, Bobby Martinez, Rob Machado, Taylor Knox and many more professionals. Anyway if you want his work, you have to pay more for it. I would recommend the Channel Islands POD, or the Flyer II along with the biscuit. If you decide to go the less expensive route. I have ridden one of the 7S Super fishes, and the board rips! It is super fast and loose, and fairly responsive, and inexpensive! Good luck!
