Fin setup for a noob

Postby NYVikesGuy » Sun Sep 18, 2011 7:40 pm

I've only been surfing a few months, and just starting to get the hang of it. Bought a 9 foot board with a tri fin set up. Is there a fin size/setup that's best for a noob? I'm obviously not looking for performance at this point. Just want to know what, if anything, would help paddling, catching waves, etc. for someone still figuring it out.

Thanks!!!

GO and Have a look at Uncle jaffa's fin primer, it will teach you about what does what and then just try the combinations and see what suit you.

Here is the link; viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16523
