Day Bag Question

Postby DannyTwoTimes » Sat Sep 17, 2011 6:57 pm

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and have been doing a lot of reading as I've found it to be quite a good resource; as well as the whole surfing-waves.com site. However, I've not found anything regarding the question I'm about to ask.

So here goes:

First off, I'm very new to the sport. I've probably been in the water surfing 8 or 9 times, and obviously I still have tons more to learn. However, I went ahead and just bought an 8'2" NSP Longboard to learn on (vs. renting all the time) and picked up a Dakine board bag to store it in since I'll be driving at least an hour to get to the beach from my house. The bag was designed for an 8'6" board and not an 8'2". Unfortunately the local shop that I bought my board and bag from didn't have an 8'2" and they seemed to think an 8'6" would be fine. However, they didn't instill a ton of confidence in my about the bag, so I figured I'd get a second a opinion.

Do you think this bag will work for my needs or do I NEED to get a smaller bag, one that was designed for my board's size?

I just want to make sure I get this right while I can still return the bag for an exchange if I need to. I apologize if this topic has already been hit on, I didn't see it as I was reading thing through all the topics.

Thanks!

Danny

Hi DannyTwoTimes, welcome to the forum.
That board bag will be fine. the extra few inches won't make any difference.

Agree the bag will be fine! You could also use the extra space for storage of other items, wax, boots gloves etc

Excellent, thanks for the information! I was looking at the bag today and noticed that it will be handy for carrying extra items.

I'm now feeling much better about the purchase and the extra size.
