Waikiki is always a good spot for beginners/tourist. Most waves will be very crowded with 80 % of the people taking off and going straight. If you are lucky and you catch a bit of a swell of 4-5', many of the tourist wont go so the waves are not as crowded. Should be a good spot to spend some time as a beginner and get accustom to the power of the waves here in Hawaii. Yes, even Waikiki can have a bit of punch as compared to other places once it gets 4-5. No worries though, pretty much sandy bottom so nothing to worry about as you take a few on the head. Be courteous out there and we will share the aloha and some fun waves.
