Robert August's Signature?

Postby Mdowling56 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 3:07 pm

Hey guys,

So I just picked up a used 9'6 Robert August (I think it's a WIR but i'm not 100%) Board was in excellent condition with just one little ding on the nose which I already had repaired and one tennis ball size yellow spot on the rail... Got it for $200!!!

Anyway, I'm curious about the signature on the board... I'm just assuming RA doesn't shape every one of his boards but I think it would be cool if he did this one.

The dimensions are hand written on the stringer but there is no legit signature... the closest thing to a signature is a little hand drawn symbol that looks something like "@" it's kind of just a little circular swirl.

Is anyone familiar with RA's? I would really love to know who actually shaped this board.

Thanks

There are so many ghost shapers, unless you KNOW it was hand shaped by someone, presume it is not.

I just bought a used Robert August WIR for $220.
It has the same "@" looking mark on on the stringer right after the dimensions. I have no clue what it means.
