Good surf schools/camps in South NJ

Postby Solnishka » Mon Aug 22, 2011 2:01 am

I'm a South Jersey girl looking to get into surfing. Does anyone know any places that offer good lessons in the South Jersey beaches? I've got some books on the basics but I've never really tried anything live.

I am also from jersey. Theres usually like camps/privates all over cape may. Usually where theres a surf shop, you can find some lessons. Id get some privates if your just starting, youll pick things up faster.

I hope the water quality has improved around Cape May and Wildwood Crest since my time there in the late 1970's. The water often stung us when we'd swim and there were interesting items washing up on the shore. Things like syringes and other hospital waste. Sorry I can't help with the specific question. Surfing hadn't really reached the East Coast when I lived in Wildwood Crest, but cheese steaks sure had been. Haven't had a good one of those since moving away from there.
