Surfing in Ayrshire, UK

Postby Dead_One » Wed Jul 27, 2011 11:24 am

Hi,
have just returned home after a break in Cornwall, where i discovered surfing. Am planning to do a lot more now, both around Edinburgh and back in Cornwall, as the oportunity arrises.
Just wondering if anyone could recomend a spot to try nearer to home though, in case i get a chance to go for a couple of hours (work/family prevent too many trips)
Even if there is a spot suitable for body boarding instead? Most places i have looked at seem to have 0 waves, something to do with Ireland i think.
Any advice greatfully received.

Looking at Ayreshire, it's unlikely that you'll find much surf there, it's just not exposed enough to open swell. A trip in the car will probably be your only option. Plenty on the east coast though.
