Is this a good (semi) beginner board?

Done a bit of surfing a couple years ago. Did pretty good with my buddy's 10ft beater longboard. Haven't been out since but would like to start again and I have some cash to burn so I'd like to pick up a better board... Looking at this fiberglass 9'L x 22 7/8"w x 3" brand new for $300. What do you guys think?

Hey guys - About to pick this board up tonight so I'm hoping I can get a quick reply.. He said the bran of the board is 'Tri-Stage' but a quick google search yields absolutely zero results. He said he has a wholesale license and picks up boards at warehouse closeouts (he has many for sale)... Would this board still be a good purchase even though it is an absolutely unknown brand? Was going to pick it up in about 2 hours so hopefully I hear back from one of you guys before then.. Thanks in advance

Yes, it is still a good purchase. The board brand is basically a "no name" and one can assume it is an epoxy resin pop-out from China. That's OK. These boards are good enough and the price is very good for brand new. Don't hesitate. Then enjoy!

Awesome. Thanks so much for the reply. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't going to start cracking on me from little to no pressure because it's a POS. I assumed it was a no-name from China and I was scared that some really, really crappy boards that are prone to disintegrate may be coming out of there. But your post has given me the confidence I need to pull the trigger.. Hope you know what you're talking about

It's a happy accident. Mass produced boards made with epoxy resin actually resist cracking, pressure dents, and dings better than handmade and low volume polyester resin boards. The price you have reported is low for a new board. Consider this a good buy. You will enjoy this board, I'm sure.
