Hey. Josh!
thanks for remembering there have been some tough times in Santa Barbara. Aside from thinking our beloved black lab was going to be euthanized Monday (she wasn't, she raillied!!!), things are OK. Went to Los Angeles for a meeting today and drove the longer route (always do) through Malibu. The surf wasn't so good, but the sunshine, water colour, and temperature in Malibu presented a stunning spectacle. One of those, "glad to be alive days." Ate lunch at a favorite little fish restaurant overlooking the sea. (Sorry, not a chippie)

Sorry to hear about your black lab but that's great that he/she rallied. They are such great dogs and true characters so I'm glad to hear you've got more time. Funnily enough my girlfriend and I were discussing getting one at the weekend and on our way down to the beach passed about 6 owners with labs and got chatting and patting with all. Thought the gods of dogs were trying to tell us something.

The drive sounds fantastic. Wish I was on your coast line right now.

Saw in the paper the other day the council trying to justify the reef again. It included analysis from Plymouth University showing it had failed on the majority of its targets. Seems that company behind the reef was also getting it in the neck from people near the 2 New Zealand reefs they built as being way over budget and not working right.

Again in the local paper today they have a haulage ship actually picking up the ripped bag from the sea bed. It says another of the bags is ripped. The council and the Kiwi company continuing to blame each other in the paper. Here's the full article at http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/8995195.Damaged_sandbag_removed_from_surf_reef/?ref=rss.

Boring, boring, blame, blame.

Hey Billie,

Thought you might like to see a pic of the glorious message put up by the council. It's the last time I'm going to post on this for a while as looks like its dead but thought it was a nice poetic closing pic.

Hope you are doing better this week my friend. Speak soon.
