Does waves look awesome!
Where is it?

Now that would be telling, but it's not a secret spot only 30 out this particular day as it has been a school holiday.
It is southern south New South Wales almost Victoria but not quite six hours drive from Sydney and seven from Melbourne. Twenty four from Adelaide and from Brisbane.
From Perth or Darwin go to Bali instead it's closer, draw a line due west from Wananaki in New Zealand and it's about there.
Only 24 hours flight from Holland but if you come this way PM me and we can work on the things that will improve your surfing.
BTW This spot is fickle and its sister spot a righthander at the other end of the bay ten times more fickle. However water temp at its lowest is about 13c!

I checked your location on google and there are a couple of sand banks in front of the Mango bar and Sand bar sports club that could offer a well shaped swell if it comes through

Stay keep guys your stoke is great and at your age a world of surf spots await you

sad days today...was my last time out at cocoa beach today as this ship contract is ending.... but atleast went out on a good one, fun day, waist high with the occasional sneaky chest high set during the morning low tide, nice and glassy, some great long rides and of course the dolphins were still around this morning and playful as ever....severely going to miss vicki, larry and the ron jons guys, thanks for hooking me up with boards every week. love that Jim philips custom pin tail "the tiger board" and looking to have one shaped just like it when i get home.

big swell on the Gold Coast, 6ft+ with the odd 9ft freak set due to a big low over the coral sea, got hammered quite a bit and looking forward to the next 2 days because the swell eases to 4-6ft and light offshore winds.

Had a cracker. Not big waves, just small mellow ones. Special because it was a dawnie, the sun was out in clear blue skies and i had the whole beach to myself, not even a dog walker out there. When i got out it happened to be exactly where i got in so i followed my footprints back up the beach. Got to the car - had a shower under a bottle of water and then had some breckie sitting in the sun by the car with a cuppa tea from the thermos. :-D

There is ended with a trip to the $hithole know as the workplace :-(

Australia is now naming Surfing Reserves, iconic beaches that have been at the forefront of the development of surfing here.
Crescent Head was an iconic surf spot as you headed north from Sydney in the 60s, now every man woman, dog and budding surf school student end up here. It is an ideal longboard wave runs for about 300 metres this particular week the large SE swell started out missing the main part of the break but as it got smaller it swung in more to engage the rocks and sand. For the Californians amongst us Crescent was always our equivalent of Malibu and come complete with the zoo level crowds, you just don't have the movie stars

This swell was missing the point

Whatever you ride don't drop in

There was a lot of plain bad mannered surfing and some really great surfing done. I when I wasn't driving the camera, I had a number of good sessions and full length backhand rides for the full 300 metres :D

Good Morning jay32, I know what you mean.
One of the greatest things about surfing is: whatever your level you can get one wave that makes your day and even keeps you, mind surfing it for days :D

You can sit and surf waves from the beach in your mind's eye, can you do that with a golf course or tennis court NAH.

My latest magic moment on recent morning was surfing a wave with one of nature's gentlemen, a seal, who casually just stayed one step ahead of any turn or thing I did on a number of waves and looked back over his shoulder thinking "well if that's all you've got" then did just a little bit more, bloody showoff.
No-one else in the surf, and then I was granted an Osprey fly by, I finished in time to see the moon set :D
