Which surfboard for two people?

Postby michelle » Sat Jan 15, 2011 8:10 pm

Hi
my partner and i did some surf lessons a few months ago and are looking at buying a board. He brought a shortboard on holiday which neither of us find very easy to use.
I am trying to be practical about it as dont want to waste money on something totally unsuitable and from what i have read the ideal one would be a minimal. However I would (if i can) like to get one that we can both use rather than buy two more boards.
He is 6 foot 2 and 14 stone where as i am 5 foot 5 and 7 and a half stone.
I found one that i thought may be suitable but would really appreciate your advice on whether this is a good board and would suit us both to improve on.
It is for sale on boardshop.co.uk and is the Bic Surfboards Natural Surf 2 2010 Package. It says that this is ideal for begginers, is quite tough and also says that it is suitable for: Rider - Male/Female 6.25stone/40kg to 16stone/100kg.
Any advice would be greatfully recieved.
Happy surfing
Michelle

You both should be riding a 9-foot longboard. Get one and it'll work just fine for both of you. In fact, you'll be doing so much better than with the short board, you'll tell your beau to get his own board.
