Looking for new board Whos got advice?

Postby mlbstr2be3@aol.com » Sun Dec 05, 2010 2:49 am

HEy guys, looking at get a new board.
Any advice on Santa cruz (where im from) or an al merrick board the pros and cons

or what else is a good board to look into... lost? rusty?

i have no price limits so i would love to know the best board for a 6'4" 185 lb "Intermidate" tall and thin. i tend to ride on my back foot, so a flat rocker would be better, i have trouble getting speed.

the board i have now is water logged so its really frustrating riding it.
whatchu got bro's? thanks in advance u guys r always looking out.

Norcal love

If you want a board that is fast and loose and want to try out a Channel Islands Surfboard. I would give the Flyer II a try. I ride one, and it is super versitle with a large sweet spot. It generates speed easy in gutless waves and is a high performance board in bigger waves. I think Channel Islands desription says waist high to double overhead waves, but you may want to check on that. I think that really depends on the surfer, but at any rate it is a super versitle easy to ride board that flys down the line. Try to ride one if possible before you buy one I think you will be stoked!

Thnaks bro. i think CI is the way to go also. Flyer will def be a look into. i just gotta find a place in SC that has em to demo. I like the WHIP by them too, cuz u can ride it like 3-4 inches shorter than u regular shortboard. Since im tall i want a board that can be very short but hold my wieght, Unforutnately i dont know if i can order custom. i think im gonna hve to buy from a shop

I just received one of the black flag whips in for one of our customers. I have not rode one yet, but it looks like a nice board. It does carry some extra volume in the rails.
