Flight weight allowance

Hi all got a quick question - when flying with your surf board (on a plane) if you pay extra to take your surf board does this come off your bage weight or is this extar?

I meen you have normally 25 kg (5 kg hand lugage 20 kg suit case) does this meen you can only take 25kg in total even if you pay?

I have read tomas cook / thomson website and I cant see any were what it states?

Any advise would be appreciated

Depends entirely on the airline.

Some (BA) simply wont take surfboards anymore, some (Virgin - I think, certainly used to be) allow one piece of sports equipment in addition to your allowance, some will include it in your allowance, and some will make you pay extra. If you pay extra it should be in addition to your luggage allowance.

But I cant put this strongly enough - CHECK WITH THE AIRLINE!

Cheers dude - I might be flighing with Tomas cook or Tomsons they charge £35 / £40 for a surf board return jerny but it dont say on the website about toatl lugage weight, I will have to book it on by phone (10p minute) so i'll ask them then and use the works phone for that? he he dont tell any one!

The 25 kgs allowance includes surfboard. I travelled with Eiad that was 23 in total, not always easy.
Check the company first because soem don't take the boards, some charge you a month of salary.
