Confused foot

Postby PlanetJet » Fri Oct 08, 2010 12:12 pm

Hi there. I'm a newbie surfer. Started a month ago. I noticed something weird or atleast that's what everyone tells me. I surf regular foot and ride a skateboard goofy footed. Is that normal? Should i switch to goofy foot on the surfboard?

Hopoe someone can shed some light. Thanks in advance!

Perfectly normal - I'm the same.
I tried to switch my skating stance, but it just doesn't work and felt unnatural. Don't try to change eitherand just stick with what works.

If you analyse what you do with your feet and your balance on a surfboard vs a skateboard, they're surprisingly different so its not surprising that you switch from reguiar to goofy.

hey PlanetJet,
this is stranger: in gentle and small surf, I surf goofey foot. But, in stronger surf and larger waves, I surf normal.
