Long(skate)boarding

Postby derbyshire surfer » Sun Aug 22, 2010 7:05 pm

Hi all,

Just thought I'd check if any of you guys/girls longboard??

I surf but havn't been for 2 months, due to flat spells or when there is swell I am working :( (115miles to nearest break). Instead of moaning and groaning to my wife and everyone about it I have taken up longboarding with my 'booger' mate. I am currently using his second board, 4ft Vision longboard and freakin love it 8) ok, first time out I got a speed wobble didn't know what to do and hurt my knee, both elbows, wrist and backside...defo hurts more than a wipeout at the beach break!

Anyone suggest a nice longboard, around the 4ft mark? I can't seem to find vision boards anywhere online...Funny how when you rock up at the coast and watch the way waves break etc. how they look, I have no started looking at roads thinking hmmm can I make that without getting trounced by a H.G.V

Loaded longboards with upgraded orangatang wheels are amazing. I also have a flowlab, those are incredible but best at a slight downhill

I got Sector 9 and love it - if you get the speed wobbles crouch down a touch ya toes this normaly stops it.

I saw this new BMW longboard with car like suspension. Looks pretty high tech. Apparently when you roll over a rock or something, just the one wheel that hits it feels and absorbs the impact so its a smooth ride regardless of the terrain. I dont remember but I think the guy said it was at least 1000 bones

Does the long boarding you are referring to is the surf boarding? Because nowadays, there is a trend of skim boarding that is so well-renowned of its existence as an extreme water sport.
