Inland surfing?

Postby Hapabalapx » Tue Mar 08, 2005 1:41 am

You know how at waterparks they have those wave pools? Well, I heard that somewhere they have this GIANT wave pool made especially for surfers, where every wave is Perfect. Now I know that this kinda takes the sport out of surfing, but this thing has been lingering in my mind forever. I hope someone can help me out and tell me where the hell this damn thing is. A website would help too...

There was one in flordia thats supposed to open in 2006 and one in new york thats opening in 2007 I think... Both under the name of "Surf Parks"...

But yea gulfsurfer I heard about that, I saw a website about it, it looked like they were still in the testing phases, but it could have just been a stale site.

thats not really surfing tho... it looks like the water comes up and your going down like a slide, thats not really the way a wave is...

they are making one in altrincham (manchester) and i cant wait-i know its not the same but when us landlocked types drive for 3 hours to find pretty naff conditions, the chance to surf 10 mins down the road in just boardies instead of having to spend 4 hours getting wetsuits, hoods, etc on followed by cold showers from the witch at cayton bay, indoor surfing suddenyl becomes very appealing!
