need advice, 6'8 beginner board

Postby mantaray » Tue Aug 10, 2010 10:04 pm

hey, so, i cant afford a roof rack and board bag as well as a board, so for my first board it'll have to be maximum 6'8 (to fit in my car). i am 5'11 so i know this is shorter than i should be on, but i learned at a surf school on a 7'6 board so i think its not too extreme a change.

Can anyone advise a good board for a beginner at this size? I can get up on kneehigh waves and turn across them with pumping too (thats on the 7'6 i learned on)

thanks guys!!

my budget is around 200 pounds

have you considered the inexpensive soft roof racks like this?

they come in all kinds of prices and we see them for sale as used in California.
Really should think this through. Say you wear a size 10 shoe. Would you buy a size 8 ice skate simply because that is the largest size that fits in your scooter panniers? No sense in buying something that you really can't use
