surfers in brighton, to cornwall or bournemouth?

Postby mantaray » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:17 pm

So, as there are no waves in brighton, where do you guys head to? 2 hour drive to bournemouth or the 5 hour drive to cornwall for more consistant waves? Gonna cost me 50£ in petrol every weekend, plus 2 nights accomodation in newquay... surfing is pretty expensive huh.

Anyone have tips on a cheaper way of me surfing?

thanks!

Get yourself a cheap diesel van that you can put a bed in the back of and go for long weekends rather than just sat and sunday. Oh and definately avoid newquay its the pits, over crowded and full of chavs.

If your looking for somewhere closer, North Devon also has some pretty good waves, and yeah newquay really is the pits and extremely overcrowded. have a look in your local WHsmiths or Amazon.co.uk and get a copy of the footprints guide to surfing britain, you might find some other decent spots closer by and some info on where to camp out etc....
