Help! long board transitioning to short!!

Postby choreanguy91 » Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:02 pm

Hi i recently started long boarding for 6 weeks now,
I normally surf the south shore side in Oahu (Bowls, Rock piles, diamon head etc)

but im looking to switch to a shorter board!
i currently have a 9 0 longboard
. . .
any suggestions for a shorter board? like height shape wise etc
I was thinking about a 6 4 biscuit board fiberglass tri fin or was it quad i forget.
but please help! :D

p.s. im around 6 feet and 185 pounds

thank you!

Biscuit sucks, lots of foam NO ROCKER, unless you have your drop and take off down pat and can angle off easy, you'll need some thing else. If you just started 6 weeks ago, go with a least a 7' 6", since your talking about a CI board, try a waterhog(great board for stepping down), M13 or a great all round shortboard like a Flyer. If your even thinking about a biscuit at least reconsider and get a fishcuit much more of a groveler and has a wider tail, but still too fast for your skill level. Some thing similar to a funshape or mini longboard is still going to be easier and more fun. You can still get great turns, cutbacks, floaters etc...even better get on the phone and talk with a local shaper...
