Ever ripped someone's back with your fins?

Postby nightwing » Tue Jun 22, 2010 6:06 am

Hi Guys,

Have you guys ever tried running your fins on someone's back? haha.

Here's the scenario. I usually see this person right after I just stood up on my board, getting ready to make my first move, and then I see this person's butt(would have been nice if it were a chick paddling) still paddling trying to get the wave (I think they never noticed someone is already on the wave!?) These guys are those ones who are either newbies or are just really lazy at going up to the lineup and would just prefer to wait on the inner waves. Really frustrating. I wonder what would happen if the board's fins would run across their back? haha.

I wonder if there's a term for that kind of person on the "surf term" section. Hahahaha.

Nice video. I wish I did that. It would be way easier on my experience. The guy was still paddling! hahaha.

Holy crap! That's brutal (the video). hah. Insane..

Sucks that the guy was droppin in, but damn... I've caught the edge of my fins on myself before.. and I can tell you right now.. I do NOT want them getting jammed into my back.

 I ain't never done that ( okay so I have - the dropper inner was bustin' my noob buddies' ass all the time so I observed many infractions, voiced concern, then took corrective action after my noob finally complained to me looking extremely upset at his predicament !)

video reminds me of a nasty bail I had. The wave was far to big for me and Lost balance so I jumped off the board from a standing position. However the wave forced the board in front of me and pushed it on its side, so as I hit the water, the board was sideways and the side of the board sprung out of the water into my chest.
THAT hurt!

His lip was nearly severed off and the roof of his mouth had a very deep cut... A couple of stitches and he was fine  doesn't ever seem to want to go out with me anymore! Fins are daaangerous.... check out the piccie...

Ooh. That hurts! My fins once got me on the nose bridge. It left a scar there, up to until now. But I'd still go surfing. lol.

Oh yeah .... I have never had a fin cut myself, but my fins did once slice through the roof of may mates 'escort when the wind pivoted my board around the one roof bar I had managed to strap it onto before I could finish tying it down :ninja: !

Nice vid...right it is prolly trestles.
Many a holes at trestles..specially lowers.

I have some fond memories of snaking revenges.
Many times at on of my crowded local spots, there is only one take off and it is in front of a large exposed rock. Many times I have been dropped in on, and while coming down the line I get under the offending snake, grab their rail from below them, and lift up on their board....this steers them up and out of the wave, while I smile and ride on.

My favorite of all was at lower Trestles....many pros surf their and some have little or no respect for you if you are not in their group. One especially good day I was ruthlessly snaked by a ripper/pro guy on two primo sets...he literally put me in the pit as he dropped in on me 2 times. I kept my mouth shut, and my opportunities open. Sitting deep on my longboard I scooped up one of the fattest sets of the day...to my anger douche boy was there to drop in on me for the third consecutive fat set wave. I kept it together as his bottom turn was aimed at putting me in the pit again....I said nothing as I trimmed up high and fast deep in the pocket...I said nothing as he set a line up high preparing for a big cut back.....his turn was cutting back hard as he was heading to rebound up to the lip...the lip I was under.....my triple stinger Becker plowed right into the center of the bottom of his board, breaking it in 2 pieces.....I wiped out, but it was all worth it. He was done for the day, standing on the beach yelling for me to come in and fight, while I picked off a few unmolested sets .....never have felt bad for this incident. :D

haha xxxxx that video is mean. looks like a real asshole. for the first time i cut somebody a few days ago. i just got on a big wave and suddenly 3 people paddle right in front of me. i tried to get between of them without hurting anyone with my longboard but longboards are not so good for turning and i hit something from one of the guys. i was hoping it was his board but on the way back i figured out i cut the back of one of his feet with one fin. it was my friend, but well.. wasn't my fault.
