Traction Pad: Which one?

Postby Beachbum » Thu Jun 10, 2010 9:25 pm

I'm planning on getting a new board soon, and I'm confused on what traction pad to buy. I received a Wet Dreams traction pad as a gift a while ago, and I was thinking about using it, but I'm not sure if it's a good traction pad or not. Are all traction pads the same, or do different companies produce significantly better traction pads?

Mostly its personal preference about the shape.
Some have a large 'hump' across the middle, while others are flat. Some have a large back bit, while others are smaller.
As a general rule, the more "radical" your surfing, the larger you need the hump and back to be. Joe average (eg me) just needs a flat one with a relatively low back.

And colour of course
