Long Board Identification

Hi guys and gals, new to this fine site and thought I might start of with a question.


Picked up this board at a garage sale the other day for 10 bucks, it was painted all white with some sort of house paint. Has the goofiest skeg I have ever seen, its huge!! After getting it home, i started chipping away at the paint which was coming off pretty easily. Found a logo, "custom by stewart" on the bottom and "PHASE II" on the top. I havent gotten very far on the top, as that paint is really on there( what would you guys recommend to soften it up with out damaging the fiberglass? )

Any ideas or info on it? Also, I have had the yellow one forever, it has 0 markings on it, any ideas on what that may be?

Well i can tell you one thing that is not a longboard, that is a surf board. Looks to me like it is a pretty old one, i would say 80's or so. Try googling the brand name and u will find some info about it.

Stewart has been a so cal staple for many many years. Think he has been shaping since the 60's...have no real idea tho.

try goof off, or some paint stripper from the home center on the paint.....try a small spot first as to not ruin your score!

Poopsie I suggest you go through your definitions, a long board is a surfboard so both of these boards are.
Just what would you call a long board
Stewart surfboards have bee around since the 60s and the flexy plastic Greenough type removable fin was an innovation in the late sixties.
The other was a little earlier pity you can't see any sticker.
The other posters are on the right track as there were so many brands and shapers who came and went or ghosted for others and that was just in OZ my knowledge of California is a lot more limited
