Paddle Ski Fin repairs!!!! Urgent!!!

Postby martino » Wed Mar 17, 2010 11:35 am

Hi Guys
I need to replace 2 of my paddle ski's fins. Its the screw on type and it looks like the fins fit into a kind of 'groove'. Im new to the scene so I don't know all the naming conventions of the parts. Hope you understand my description. What i need is a surf or kayak shop in the Muizenberg/Fishhoek area that does that kind of repairs or sell the screw on type of fins for paddle ski's.

Any info would be much appreciated.

How about throwing it away and taking up surfing?
Failing that a photo of the damaged fin would be better than the description you have given.

^ Agree with kitesurfer - a pic is the only way to get real help - not a rude one, just of the fin, box (?) and fittings will suffice.

Martino,
try this place.

http://www.surfshack.co.za/

They have a complete surf shop and are located at Muizenberg beach.

It almost sounds like you have described a lock box setup. Screws are a little bit pricey because they are stainless steel. Do NOT use anything other than stainless steel. Carbon steel will corrode so that removal is not possible and brass is so soft it may break.

Question: why is this so urgent?
