Can someone help me with buying a surf board..

Postby CockersdotheDANCE » Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:24 pm

Hey,

I am looking to buy a surf board, I have found one that looks quite good but I was hopeing people could take a look and tell me what they think..
I'm a complete beginner so I really have no idea what im looking for, all I know is it has to be a large board, I skate and do yoga so im kinda hopeing I can just teach myself, also I live by the meditteranean sea so the waves arn't huge so I prob wont be killed :P

This is the link to the board im looking to buy: http://www.loquo.com/pe/for-sale/sporti ... s/16589247

I live in Spain so the translation of the text is: "Hi,

Sell my evolutionary Full & Cas board 6.10.

Perfect for learning and for the waves of the Mediterranean.

Almost never use it because it was my second board. This almost new.

The board includes seams, grip, invention (leash) all for 200 Euros."

Would really appricicate it if some expirienced surfers could take a look and let me know if this would be sutible for a begginer.

Many thanks,

Benjamin

Rent a few boards & find out what you like before you buy anything!

I am 5ft 11 and im thin/athletic...I went into a surf shop the other day and got reccomended a board, I think it was like 7.4... but I cant afford to buy new.
Whats the average size board that a beginner of my size would need?

Many thanks

benjamin,
I was relieved when reading your original post. The subject almost made me think you were going to ask for money to help you buy a surfboard! By the way, I buy most everything used. So, even if you had the money for a brand new board, I'd encourage you to by used (just like you are trying to do).
