Where should I take my board to fix a ding?

Postby surfergirl16 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:00 am

I just got a horibble ding on my new-ish only board :( It is near the nose on the rail. It looks like a fin slashed it and it is very deep. Wierd thing is i didnt notice when i did it. Someone else told me. Where should I take it to in San Diego? I am not even going to think about doing it myself. will it ever ride the same?

i use this stuff called "sun cure" i think. its a diy ding repair, it was cheap , doesn't look the best in the world but it does the job and has been holding up for 5 years now, granted i have other boards i ride more often, but im never afraid to take that board out with me.

it was a pretty good gash too

I would say skip the suncure for major dings, since you mentioned it was deep. Take your board to a cheap shop, or better yet, a friend. Hopefully you're able to shoulder them when they're fixing it too, so you'll be able to fix dings on your own, and save youself money + time. Don't ever buy boat resin to fix a surfboard  . I have a nice thick-dehydrated-piss stain on my funboard.
