Looking for some advice on buying a Mini mal

Postby surfgirl1 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:08 pm

I've been surfing for almost a year now and needless to say am still learning but I'm ready to buy my first board. I've decided to go with 7'6'' Mini mal and have 3 boards in mind but am not sure which to go for. I don't know much about board brands and the benefits and drawbacks of different materials used. I'm hopeing if I post the links to the 3 boards I'm looking at that someone can give me some advice. Thanks.

surfgirl1,
can't stress enough that if you're learning buy second hand from your local surf shop and if you don't have one handy then ebay or similar as it won't cost you much and you won't be too annoyed if you ding it, which you will! Size wise don't know what height or weight you are so difficult to advise but if you get a board at least 1 and 1/2 feet taller than you and 23 inches wide by 3 inches thick that should be ok. More float will give you more stability to get up on the board and allow you to catch smaller crappier waves and lots of them :)
